Remarks: At nearly the same time as Fansproject, Toyworld discovered the old G1 Headmaster characters and began creating new versions of them. Enter Brainwave, a third party version of G1 Brainstorm. Of course the original Brainstorm never looked quite that buff and didn't carry wicked-looking knives, either. Brainwave can detach his head, which becomes a separate robot and rides in his jet cockpit, too. Even as Brainwave here was competing with Fansproject Function X-3 Smartrobin, Hasbro would issue an official figure of this character a mere year later in the form of Thrilling 30 Brainstorm.
