🛠 The Future of Transformers‑Universe.com
Status: April 2026
Transformers‑Universe.com is a fan project.
It is not a corporation, not a twenty‑person team, and not a miracle of modern web development – it’s a site that has been around for more than twenty years, growing, changing, and occasionally developing a few quirks along the way. Just like a good Transformer.
On this page I want to give you an overview of
- what has already been done,
- what is currently being worked on, and
- what is being considered for the future.
No hard deadlines, no marketing promises – just for transparency.
Let’s say go!
✅ Already Done
Over the past months (more like years), quite a lot of work has happened behind the scenes, even if it wasn’t always immediately visible.
✅ Migration to a new CMS completed on January 1, 2024
✅ Fundamental modernization of the site structure
✅ Migration of the majority of reviews, galleries, and articles
✅ Re‑integration of the Toy Database including the ID Guide
✅ Fully bilingual site (DE / EN)
✅ PHP 8 compatibility and performance improvements
✅ Return of simple user lists (I have / I want)
✅ Optional star ratings for figures (no mandatory comments, no social‑media mechanics)
In short:
The site is once again standing on a technical foundation that should last for many years to come.
🔧 Currently Being Worked On
This is the part that changes on a regular basis.
🧩 Content & Toy Database
🔧 Continued expansion and maintenance of the Toy Database (new figures, variants, corrections)
🔧 Closing gaps in specific toy lines (including Legacy / Legacy United, Age of the Primes, Studio Series)
🔧 Migration of missing or older image galleries
🔧 Updating and expanding older reviews where sensible
🔍 Usability
🔧 Improvements to the ID Guide, especially:
-
- clear message when something cannot be found (and why)
- improved filter logic
🔧 Better presentation on mobile devices (yes, I know many of you arrive via Reddit)
🧭 Planned Steps (No Fixed Dates)
The following points are planned but not scheduled.
They will be implemented when they can be done properly and sustainably (and once I find the time).
📋 More Transparency
📋 Coverage status per toy line
-
- complete
- partial
- in progress
📋 Visible “last updated” information for:
-
- the Toy Database
- the ID Guide
📚 Help Pages
📋 “New here? How to use Transformers‑Universe.com”
📋 “Figure or part not found – what now?”
🧠 Ideas & Considerations
These are not promises, just things I am thinking about:
🧠 A public feature/content roadmap (this page is a first step)
🧠 Better connection with external fan wikis and reference sites
🧠 Extended filters and tags within the Toy Database
🧠 Long‑term: read‑only API access for fan tools
❌ What Is Explicitly Not Planned
Just as important as new features is being clear about what will definitely not happen:
❌ A classic discussion forum (we tried that, didn't work, never again!)
❌ Social‑media mechanics like “likes” or “follows”
❌ Advertising or paywalls for core features
❌ Content spam for the sake of reach
Transformers‑Universe.com will remain what it has always been:
an archive, a reference site, and a place for people who take toys seriously – but not themselves.
💬 Feedback
Constructive feedback, bug reports, and notes about missing or incorrect entries are always welcome.
The contact form is the best way to reach me – I read everything, even if I can’t always reply immediately.
Thanks to everyone who has been using, recommending, and supporting the site for years.
Without you, this project would have ended long ago.
Here’s to the next years.
Let’s say go!
