Post-apocalyptic wastelands are no excuse to forego shaving!
Series: Masters of the Universe
Year: 1982

Back in 1982, long before the Filmation cartoon gave us the definitive version of the Masters of the Universe, Man-at-Arms was among the first figures released in the series. Originally at home in a post-apocalyptic wasteland with a Conan-like He-Man, Man-at-Arms was one of the few remaining people who understood the technology of the Ancients and used it in battle against Skeletor and his evil minions. This Man-at-Arms never wore a mustache, didn't have an adoptive daughter, and certainly never suffered from the antics of a hapless Trollan court magician, either. He kicked ass and took names. And while I love and adore the Filmation cartoon and the world it built, I do sometimes miss the original incarnation of the Masters.

Much like all of the original MotU figures, Man-at-Arms came with a removable chest harness, a weapon, and that was pretty much it. He added a single arm and leg brace to the collection. Still, the nostalgia value is strong with this figure here, even though pretty much every single Man-at-Arms figure that came later was better than this guy. But this was the one I had as a kid.
