Yes, this is what Movie Starscream looked like before coming to Earth!
Series: Dark of the Moon - Cyberverse
Year: 2011
Allegiance: Decepticons

Prelude: In the Dark of the Moon movie, Starscream died. In the Dark of the Moon toy line, most figures were unpainted grey plastic. So how to best pay homage to Starscream’s death in that movie? Make an exclusive repaint of an existing Starscream figure in grey, of course. And the term repaint is not to be taken literally here, as not that much paint is involved. So let’s say go!

Robot Mode: This particular Starscream here is a repaint of Cybertron Legends Starscream. Seeing as I’ve reviewed both the original figure and, much more recently, its repaint Cybertron Sunstorm, this review here will focus mainly on the differences. For a complete review of the figure, I recommend reading the Sunstorm review first.

Done? Good. Now Starscream here is part of a so-called Origins pack, meaning you get two figures portraying the same character at different stages in his existence. So this here is supposed to be Movie Starscream’s pre-Earth form, I guess. No, not his Protoform, his pre-Earth form, important distinction… or not. Anyway, what this means is that the existing figure of Cybertron Starscream is repainted in something resembling Movie Starscream’s colours, which means… well, mostly grey. Should be beige, really, but this is the Dark of the Moon toy line, after all, which was like 70% unpainted grey plastic, it felt like.

So we have Starscream mostly grey this time, with some beige, blue, red, and golden highlights, practically an explosion of colors in the Dark of the Moon line. Apart from that, he is the same figure as ever, of course. Still got a blade on one arm, a gun on the other, and pretty decent articulation for such a small figure from that time.

Bottom line: while the colors are a bit boring, the robot mode itself remains pretty good. And it doesn’t resemble Live-Action Starscream even slightly, of course. Whether that’s a good or bad thing is entirely up to you.

Alternate Mode: No changes apart from the colors here, either, naturally. Still mostly grey, same colored highlights, and the black feet form the jet’s nose for a bit more diversity. Nothing else is new here. Still a very nice jet mode, now in slightly boring colors.

Remarks: The only thing I really remember Starscream doing in Dark of the Moon is dying at the hands of Sam Witwicky in one of the saddest displays of Transformers being taken out by a human ever. He never looked like this figure in any of the movies, of course. Starscream here was sold as part of a Cyberverse exclusive set, featuring the current Legends-class figures of Bumblebee and Starscream with a trans-scanning effect, as well as this Starscream here and a repaint of Universe Legends Bumblebee as their pre-Earth forms.

So bottom line for this figure: the mold itself is pretty good, not quite as good as it is in Voyager-size, but still pretty nice. Unless you are totally opposed to Legends-class toys, you should own one of it. But maybe not this one here. Because for all that he was part of a somewhat-exclusive set, his paint job is really boring. There are far more interesting versions of it out there.
