'Tis but a scratch!
Series: Masters of the Universe
Year: 1984

Battle Armor He-Man was part of the third wave of Masters of the Universe figures in 1984. It was the first time that we got a new toy for an existing character and included what, to me, is still the best gimmick the vintage MotU line ever came up with. He-Man's battle armor can be damaged. Hit it once, it rotates to show a single scratch. Hit it again, two scratches. Rotate it back, the armor magically heals itself. Simple, yet great. Still a cool gimmick forty years later.

Other than the new torso with the in-built gimmick, it's the same He-Man we've seen before, sold with sword and ax, but leaving out the shield (who needs one if you have magical armor, right?). Side note: I still own the BA He-Man of my childhood, but his feet have rotted off. Apparently for some versions the feet were extra parts, while for most figures the legs and feet are all one piece. Just something worth noting.

Bottom line: still a great figure so many years later and actually my favorite version of He-Man, even beating out the original.
