Series: Masters of the Universe Classics
Real Name: Carnivus Fervelius III.
Title: Heroic Feline Warrior
Year: 2010
Leader of a race of Eternian cat warriors called Qadians, Carnivus keeps his people safe high in the village of Felis Qadi. For many years the Qadians kept neutral stance, preferring not to get involved in the affairs of other tribes. But with the rise of Skeletor and the subsequent release of the Snake Men and the Horde from their inter-dimensional prisons, Carnivus agreed to re-evaluate his core principles and joined the struggle for freedom allying himself and his people with King Randor’s new Eternian Council. Carnivus uses his feline agility and great courage to fight evil.
Review: Chief Carnivus is, for once, not a character from the original Masters of the Universe comics, cartoon, or toyline, but a new character created for the 200X cartoon series. He did not receive a figure in the accompanying toyline, so he had to wait until the Classics series to finally appear in toy form. Like all Classics figures he is very nicely poseable and he can remove both his cape and chest armor. He comes with a saber and a shield for weapons.
Overall a very nice figure, though some people might be put off because he is not one of the original vintage characters. Me, I'm very much reminded of Thun, the Lion Man from Flash Gordon, which is just one more reason to love this guy. Even if you're not a Flash Gordon fan, though, what's not to love about a humanoid cat person with a big sword and cape?
