Worth at least three Command Centers.
Series: Gobots
Allegiance: Renegades
Category: Play Set
Year: 1984

Many thanks to my buddy Jörg Zimmermann for supplying the pictures of Thruster, the Renegage version of the GoBots Command Center. The Thruster is a space cruiser that can be stood up on end to become a base and further transform (using the term loosely) into a giant Renegage robot with a head, arms and something that kind of looks like feet, too.

In base mode, the Thruster has three different levels. The upper one is the bridge, the middle one the detention center, and the lower one is basically just a big computer that also contains the play set's electronics.

Much like the Command Center, Thruster's main attraction is its use as a play set to put in GoBots (or similar-sized Transformers, too). In fiction the Renegades hat entire fleets of this thing and when it came to open space battle, they mostly ended up blasting the Command Centers out of the sky. The Command Center does have more levels in base mode, though, so there is that.

Bottom line: if there is one thing where the GoBots line was ahead of the Transformers, it was that they actually gave us the big space ships the alien robots flew around in. And while I personally like the GoBot Command Center more, Thruster also looks pretty terrific.

No Rating, as I never had this set in hand myself, I'm just going by the pictures.
