Leo Prime is a career soldier, commander of an elite Maximal black ops unit designated The Pack. So secret is his unit, even most of those in the Maximal Command structure are aware of it only as a rumor. Leo Prime and his comrades in The Pack travel wherever trouble is thickest, often working undercover to deal crippling blows to Predacon plots.
Remarks: Leo Prime is a repaint of Galaxy Force Ligerjack (aka Cybertron Leobreaker), so look there for the full review. Just some words on the differences here. This figure is actually something of a double homage. It's name, the character described in the profile, and the choice of figure (or alternate mode, rather) all pay homage to the Japanese Lio Convoy, leader of the Cybertrons in the Beast Wars II series. Whereas Lio Convoy had a mostly white and red color scheme, though, the choice of colors here references another figure, namely the original Optimus Prime. There is a Target exclusive version of this figure that actually does adopt Lio Convoy's color scheme (see below), but the "normal" Universe version of this figure is a mixed homage.
So what else can I say about this figure? It's got a different head mold than Ligerjack, though once again it looks more like the original Optimus head rather than Lio Convoy's noggin'. Nothing else has changed about the figure, including its ability to powerlink with Cybertron Optimus Prime in Savage Claw mode. In this combo the colors work very well, though. It's not the exact same shade of red as Cybertron Prime, but very close and harmonizes a lot better than Ligerjack's brown.
Not sure what else to write, though. Same gimmicks as Ligerjack, same alternate mode (though it does look great in blue and red, btw), same posability, etc. So the bottom line is: Still a good figure, a great choice for an homage to Lio Convoy, though I'm not sure about the choice of colors, no matter how good they look. If you're going to pay homage to a character, do it properly. I got Leo Prime here on clearance and wouldn't have bothered otherwise. Still, a nice choice for people who passed on Ligerjack and have a Cybertron Prime at home. If you want a proper homage to Lio Convoy, I'd advice grabbing the Target version, but if you want one to go with your Cybertron Prime, this one here's the better choice.
