Formerly bound to Soundwave as a partner and slave, Overkill was often overlooked by enemy and ally alike. Recently, however, he has overcome his diminutive size, reinstalling his cerebro-circuitry in a larger, more dangerous body. Now, he is free to indulge his destructive whims, stomping cars flat, snapping tractor trailers in half in his jaws, and being generally terrifying.

Remarks: First thing, many thanks to fellow TF-Fan BlackZarak, who loaned me his Overkill for this review. Second, this figure is a straight-up repaint of Classics Grimlock (just like Botcon 2008 Grimlock), so I'll only do a few short remarks on the differences. Overkill has adopted the color scheme of his G1 predecessor (one of the lesser-known G1 cassettes, to be precise), so he's mostly white with silver and blue highlights. Worth noting: the figure has a much lighter blue than is shown on the packaging. Apart from the colors there are no differences to the previous incarnations of this figure, so there isn't a whole lot more I can say here. A nice new paintjob, if slightly boring, for a pretty nifty figure, bringing back one of the more obscure characters from G1. Nice, but not a must-have.
