🛠 The Future of Transformers‑Universe.com
Status: May 2026
Transformers‑Universe.com was, is, and will remain a fan project. Seeing as I have neither a big corporation nor a twenty person team behind me, it's still a one-man job to keep this site running, up to date, and modernize it every now and then, so that it remains attractive and useful for the discerning Transformers fan.
On this page I want to give you an overview of
- what has already been done,
- what is currently being worked on, and
- what is being considered for the future.
No hard deadlines, no promises, just for transparency.
Let’s say go!
✅ Already Done
Over the past months (more like years), quite a lot of work has happened behind the scenes, even if it wasn’t always immediately visible.
✅ Migration to a new CMS completed on January 1, 2024 to guarantee PHP-8 compatibility and performance optimization.
✅Fundamental modernization of the site structure
✅ Migration of the majority of reviews, galleries, and articles, as well as re-integration of the toy database and ID-guide.
✅ Fully bilingual site (DE / EN)
✅ Return of simple user lists (I have / I want)
✅ Users rate figures (no mandatory comments, no social‑media mechanics)
✅ Status page showing the coverage status per toy line (just started, ongoing, complete, etc.) and date of last update
✅ Streamlining of the various toy database access pages.
🔧 Currently Being Worked On
This is the part that changes on a regular basis.
🔧 Continued expansion and maintenance of the Toy Database (new figures, variants, corrections)
🔧 Closing gaps in specific toy lines
🔧 Migration of the remaining image galleries from the old site.
🔧 Updating and expanding older reviews where sensible
🔧 Expansion of current "Variant" and "Character" pages to include background, lore, and story-telling
🔧 Improvements to the ID Guide, especially to give a clear message when something cannot be found (and why) and improved filter logic
🧭 Planned Steps (No Fixed Dates)
The following points are planned but not scheduled. They will be implemented when I find the time and muse to do them properly.
📋 How-to Page: “New here? How to use Transformers‑Universe.com”
📋 Process for site users to better point out mistakes and gaps and possibly contribute to the toy database in larger ways.
📋 Better connection with external fan wikis and reference sites
📋 Creating clean, easy-to-read URLs for the Toy DB Info pages.
📋 Long‑term: read‑only API access for fan tools and other sites in order to use the toy database
❌ What Is Explicitly Not Planned
Just as important as new features is being clear about what will definitely not happen:
❌ A classic discussion forum (we tried that, didn't work, never again!)
❌ Social‑media mechanics like “likes” or “follows”
❌ Advertising or paywalls for core features
❌ Content spam for the sake of reach
Transformers‑Universe.com will remain what it has always been: an archive, a reference site, and a place for people who take toys seriously – but not themselves.
💬 Feedback
Constructive feedback, bug reports, and notes about missing or incorrect entries are always welcome. The contact form is the best way to reach me – I read everything, even if I can’t always reply immediately.
Thanks to everyone who has been using, recommending, and supporting the site for years. Without you, this project would have ended long ago.
Here’s to the next years.
