A ruthless, battle-ready robot for rent. A traitorous backstabber. Only loyal to the highest bidder. Valued by all, trusted by none. When binary-bonded to Knok, Doubledealer disguises himself as an Autobot robot. When binary-bonded to the bat creature, Skar, Doubledealer transforms into a Decepticon falcon. Armed with intercontinental ballistic missile that can travel 3,000 miles in 30 minutes. Equipped with enough explosives to flatten a mountain range. Uses solid light blaster in robot Mode.
Robot Mode: In robot mode Double Dealer appears to be an Autobot (named Double in the comics, Clouder in the series), wearing the Autobot crest on both shoulders. The robot is pretty large and offers better-than-average posability for a G1 toy of that time. Which isn't much, but better than others. Anyway, the robot looks pretty cool, though I think the head is a bit too large. He carries the front half of his large missile on the shoulder and the rear half as a gun. In this mode he carries Powermaster Knok on his abdomen. All in all a good-looking robot mode, no complaints.
Alternate Modes: Double Dealer has two alternate modes. The first is his 'Decepticon-Mode', in which he becomes a Falcon with the Decepticon emblem on his head. The Falcon (called Dealer in the comics) might just be the largest bird-Transformer of them all. He is a bit misshapen with the large rear and the tiny legs, but all in all he looks good. The Falcon carries the missile underneath and the blaster gun on top. Powermaster Skar is an engine on his belly.
Finally Double Dealer can transform into a 'neutral' vehicle mode (no Autobot or Decepticon logos to be seen). The vehicle is a missile truck and does a good job of it. The missile on top can be raised, the vehicle has nice detailling, no complaints here. Even though it's the most boring of his three modes it's still good.
Remarks: Shady characters with no fixed allegiances are always fun. Double Dealer scored only a single appearance in the Transformers comic series, playing Autobots and Decepticons against each other and getting away with the loot. He featured more prominently in the Japanese Masterforce series, where he worked with the Decepticons first, but later saw the light and defected to the Autobots. His second Powermaster figure, Skar, might be the only non-humanoid Nebulan figure, just a side note. In the series the two Powermasters weren't two separate figures, but just a single one changing appearances, depending on whose side he was on at the moment. Bottom line, Double Dealer is definitely one of the better figures of the later-day G1 series.
