Revenge of the Fallen Swerve

Swerve is highly intelligent, though you wouldn't know it to watch him drive. His duties as a metallurgist and fabricator for the Autobots expose him to a lot of toxic chemicals, which his circuits have been constantly exposed to for years. He has trouble holding a straight line as a result. The other Autobots prefer to keep him far away from battle, since he aims about as well as he drives.

Remarks: Swerve is a repaint of ROTF Sideswipe, so look for the full review there. Just a few words on the differences here. Apart from the new paintjob - mostly red where Sideswipe is mostly silver - the main difference between the two figures is the head. Swerve got a new one and in my opinion it does look better than the original, at least for this figure. Swerve just looks meaner and more likely to use his blades to chop your head off. I like that. He’s got the same balance- and rucksack-issues that Sideswipe has, of course, but for some reason he just looks better, at least in my opinion. Oh, and being red he looks more like the original Sideswipe than Sideswipe does.

Swerve is one of those names forever doomed to be used for repaints. There hasn’t been a single Swerve in all of Transformer history (at least to my knowledge) that wasn’t a repaint of some other figure. Swerve has yet to appear in any Transformers media, but nevertheless I personally like him a lot better than Sideswipe. This mold still has some limitations, mostly the feet, but it looks great in red (even if it doesn’t photograph that well). So my recommendation is, if you’re going to buy this mold, then buy Swerve.
