Sole survivor of the catastrophic battle that destroyed the other Decepticons, Starscream fled into the vast and cloudy skies of Earth, away from the searching eyes of the Autobots. His alien skin totally transparent to the primitive sensing technologies of humanity's armies, it was easy for him to find a place to hide. Altering his exterior was a simple matter, and made it even easier to hide from his enemies. With Megatron gone, and the AllSpark lost, he waits, and plots, and plans for a future in which he rises at the head of a mighty Decepticon army to reclaim all that his former leader lost.

Remarks: This Starscream here is, of course, a repaint of the first Movie Starscream (or rather of Movie Thundercracker, who is a repaint of the first Starscream, but with a different head), so there is very little I can say about this figure that I haven't already said elsewhere. So basically here's just some words on the new paint job.

Starscream was given his traditional G1 colors here and they do look good, no doubt, but the resemblance to G1 Starscream still isn't really there, the mold is just too different for that. The Thundercracker-head looks more humanoid than Movie Starscream's insect-like head, but it still a far cry from the smirking back-stabber we've seen in G1. The G1 homage is much closer in jet mode, where the G1 colors really do make for a strong resemblance, but the huge missile launchers under the wings do mess it up a bit.

This version of Starscream was available exclusively at Target and I bought it when it was on clearance at the BigBadToyStore. I probably wouldn't have bothered otherwise. The mold itself is still good, though the lack of hands still drags it down a bit, and the G1 colors really look nice on it. So if you haven't got a version of this figure yet, this one here is as good a choice as any of the others.
