Robot Mode: Legends Jazz strikes a pretty nice figure in robot mode. He captures the look of his Deluxe incarnation quite well. He's more slender, about the same posability-wise, but less detailed, of course. He can even say that he's got much better arms than Deluxe Jazz (then again, which figure hasn't). One little detail thaz needs mentioning: Legends Jazz transforms quite differently than Deluxe Jazz, which means (among other things) that the car's front fender that serves as his chest is a fake. The actual front of the car is made from Jazz' legs. It's not a problem in robot mode, but it becomes one in vehicle mode (see below). Speaking strictly for the robot mode, though: Good job!

Alternate Mode: The fact that Legends Jazz' transformation is quite a bit different than that of his Deluxe incarnation is quite evident here. He transforms into a silver sports car, of course, but the roof of the car is quite obviously the fake front fender he uses for a chest in robot mode, complete with headlights. I guess if you haven't seen the robot mode yet you might miss it and just think the roof looks a bit strange, but once you've transformed him... well, you really can't miss it. Pretty much ruins an otherwise decent vehicle mode.

Remarks: Leaving aside the fact that I'm not a big fan of the Legends class in general, Legends Jazz puts me in something of a situation when it comes to giving him a rating. On one hand we have a pretty good robot mode, a very good miniature of the Deluxe-sized robot. On the other hand, though, we have a vehicle mode that is pretty much ruined by a sloppy transformation design. So if we think B for robot and D- for vehicle mode... okay, let's call it down the middle and Jazz better be happy with that.

Rating: C-
