When the AllSpark was destroyed, the war against the Decepticons ended in one stroke. Optimus Prime was bathed in the power of the shattered AllSpark. The gaps in his armour gleam with ancient energy, his eyes and voice pulse with power. He has become a living receptacle of the creative power of the AllSpark, capable of healing - or destroying - with the merest thought. Despite this, he remains dedicated to peace. As a symbol of this dedication, he has altered his exterior decorations to match the ones he bore as a young leader, before the beginning of the war.
Remarks: First Strike Optimus Prime is a repaint of Robovision Optimus Prime, so look there for the full review. Also like Robovision Prime, First Strike Prime was available exclusively in Target stores in the US, though he did come out in regular stores here in Germany. His paintjob has been modified to more closely resemble that of the original Optimus Prime, meaning a lot more red and a darker shade of blue.
In my personal opinion this version of Optimus Prime doesn't resemble the original leader all that much despite the changed paint job, but it's still an excellent robot with a very good alternate mode and very little room for complaint. It remains to be seen whether or not his profile text, according to which he now holds the power of the AllSpark, holds any significance for the second part of the Transformers Movie (don't bet any money on it!), but as repaints go he's a good one. Still, I'll rate him slightly worse than I did my original version of this mold, simply because it seems to be mostly a repaint for repaints' sake and I think it looks slightly better in the Movie colours than it does on the faux-G1-colours.
