No sacrifice is too great in the service of freedom
The greatest in a long line of Autobot leaders, Optimus Prime is a beacon of hope to those who suffer under the tyranny of Megatron. He is devoted to the defence of weaker creatures, and has dedicated his life to fighting against Megatron wherever he goes. He is unwavering in his compassion, which sometimes allows his enemies to take advantage of him, but he is also utterly without fear in the face of overwhelming odds. Where freedom is threatened, he is an unstoppable force, and a mighty defender of justice and right.

Robot Mode: A very nice mixture of the classic Optimus look with some new details. Optimus offers superb posability in robot mode, very nice detailing, and a good number of gimmicks while not being overloaded with them. The smoke stacks from his truck mode can function as either a hand gun or shoulder-mounted weapons. The sleeper compartment from his truck mode goes on his back where it serves as a mount for the shoulder cannons or it can come off to become a big blaster itself. There is no Matrix chamber in Optimus' chest, but I really don't mind. Optimus is a superb robot, easily the equal of other great Optimus robot modes such as Cybertron Prime. Oh, and he is at a scale where he is compatible with the other robots of the line except of towering over them. Which is something that irked me in some past Optimus robots.

Alternate Mode: A very good and straight-forward truck mode here. Unlike earlier incarnations of Optimus trucks he comes with a sleeper compartment on top, giving him a more rounded look than the boxy trucks of yore. There is no trailer, but he really doesn't need one. All in all a simple yet nicely detailled and overall good vehicle mode. No complaints.

Remarks: Classics brings us what might just be the best Optimus Prime since 20th Anniversary Prime. A very, very good robot mode with some gimmicks (but not too many), a simple and straightforward vehicle mode, and a scale that makes him compatible with other robots from the Classics line. Try as I may, I can't find anything wrong with this great version of Optimus Prime. Recommended to every single Transformers fan out there.
