We don't wear red shirts, why do you ask?
Series: Masters of the Universe Classics
Title: Heroic Guards
Year: 2011

From across the Light Hemisphere of Eternia, the bravest and most noble warrior’s in Randor’s kingdom were recruited by Man-At-Arms and later Clamp Champ to help guard the Royal Family. Often called upon to aid the Masters of the Universe, the royal guards are trained in multiple forms of hand-to-hand combat and are masters of many weapons including the Power Staff and several types of Energy Blasters. Whenever the Royal Palace is threatened, it is the strength of the elite guardsmen which often repels evil. Brave Palace Guards like Lieutenant Spector defend the Royal Family from attack.

Review:  For a while Duncan, the Man-at-Arms, was the only one rocking the green and orange battle armor on the battle fields of Eternia. Starting with the Filmation cartoon, though, he got quite the number of guards to aid him, all of them wearing some variation of his armor. I'd call them Redshirts if any of them had ever died in the original cartoon, but lack of mortal peril aside, they usually weren't of much use. Mostly just running around, but being mysteriously absent the moment any of the named characters got into a fight.

The Classics Eternian Guards are two figures with four different heads, so you can create a number of different-looking guards. You got two human-looking heads, one light-skinned, one dark-skinned, as well as a Reptilian-looking one and one that's got a feline-looking face. They are armed with a number of weapons you might recognize from Castle Grayskull's weapon rack and also come with exchangeable chest plates (including damaged ones) for yet more variance. Articulation is Classics standard, meaning very good, but not quite as good as the current Masterverse / Chronicles figures.

And that's pretty much it. The Eternian Guard is something to fill up the ranks of your good guys, heroically standing behind those characters who actually got names. They are fun, but I wouldn't consider them a must have.
