RID 2001 Optimus Prime (Spychanger)

Robot Mode: Spychanger Prime in robot mode depicts RID Optimus Prime in battle mode, meaning he's wearing his trailer-turned-armour. The Spychanger version doesn't have a detachable armour, of course, so this is it's only robot mode. It gives a good showing as a miniature version of the larger robot. Looks and detailing are as good as you can probably get at this size. Posability is limited, but present. You can even kinda target the ladder/cannon on his back forward, even though you can only do so under his arm, not over his shoulder. Still, as mini-figures go, Spychanger Prime gives a very good showing.

Alternate Mode: Like his larger cousin Spychanger Prime transforms into a fire truck. Once again, a very good likeness. It's a pretty straight-forward miniature of the larger fire truck, right down to the small Autobot logos on the side. The truck's ladder can swivel sideways and upward. So all in all a good, solid vehicle mode.

Remarks: The Spychangers were the predecessors of today's Legends-class figures. The RID line-up contained original characters as well, but Optimus Prime is, of course, a miniature version of the larger, Leader-class robot. As miniatures go he's pretty good. He can't replicate the larger robot's ability to have two different robot modes, of course, but the overall likeness is very good. So if you're looking for a Legends-sized version of RID Optimus, look no further.
