For thousands of years, Optimus Prime and his Autobots have traveled through space in search of the Allspark. For all that time, the Autobot leader has held one goal in mind - to protect the universe from the evil of Megatron. For this massive, metal warrior, nothing is more important than freedom; he will sacrifice all for its preservation. He has fought for centuries, modifying his body into an unstoppable war machine, preparing for that day he knows is coming when he and Megatron meet for one final battle!

Robot Mode: This version of the Autobot leader reminds me a bit of Robots in Disguise Optimus Prime, which isn't a bad thing, mind you. The robot is an Optimus, there is no denying that, and he makes for a tall, posable, and finely detailed robot. The fact that he towers above most of the other figures isn't exactly a plus for me, as I like my figures to be more compatible in scale, but that's just a minor thing. All in all, this robot mode is pretty awesome. Aside from the great posability, Optimus features some electronic lights and sounds (though neither is very spectacular) and a weapon that can flip out from his forearm to rest in (or rather around) his hand. Speaking of hands, they are pretty posable, too. From what I've seen in the Movie trailers, this Optimus is very much the spitting image of his silver screen counterpart, so no complaints there, either. Bottom line, a great robot mode with no flaws I could think of.

Vehicle Mode: Unlike the rather boxy semi-trucks Optimus usually transforms into, the Movie version transforms into a long-nosed rig that kinda reminds of the Rhino truck from M.A.S.K. (for those that remember the Mobile Armored Strike Kommand). Transforming Optimus into his truck mode isn't exactly easy, but once you get there you have a very wholesome-looking truck that gives little indication that there is a robot hidden inside. The truck also features lights and sounds (the latter being a truck horn). Optimus' weapon can be stored on the back of the truck, but while it doesn't appear as a weapon there, it doesn't really fit into the whole look, so it's better to take it off IMO. All in all a great truck mode, no complaints.

Remarks: Really, the only thing I can think of that I don't like about this version of the Autobot leader is his size. A little smaller and he would have been more compatible with the rest of the Movie line figures. Apart from that, though, I can't find any faults worth mentioning. The transformation sequence is kinda complicated, but after two or three times you get it down. So that leaves me with little left to say but: Get Optimus Prime! He's worth the price.
