Total victory requires total destruction.
Grimlock is a tragic figure. He was originally developed by the Decepticons as a soldier whose sentience would be based on artificial intelligence rather than a Ember. However, his violent subroutines overrode his logic programming causing him to destroy the facility that created him. Megatron was able to deactivate him and he was stored away, never to be used again. However, when Optimus Prime learned of his creation, he stole Grimlock and reactivated him. Offered a chance to revel in his violent tendencies, Grimlock eagerly joined Optimus Prime and serves as his most potent warrior. Grimlock will not stop tearing through enemy ranks until they are all destroyed or he can no longer move. He simply cannot feel mercy and has little self control. "I wish I had a thousand more like him!" says Autobot leader Optimus Prime. Fortunately for the Decepticons, he doesn't.

Remarks: Grimlock is a repaint of Classics Grimlock, so look there for the full review. Here's just some words on the differences. Shattered Glass Grimlock is a bit darker grey than his Classics predecessor and has some gren and purple highlights as well. I'm not sure it makes him look more evil or anything, but it does look good on him, so thumbs up on that one. That said, there isn't really all that much that differentiates this Grimlock from the Classics Grimlock. I'm kinda missing that nice little twist that makes most of the other Botcon 2008 figures look different than their originals. Grimlock somehow hasn't got it.

Grimlock also didn't have much of a part in the Botcon comic apart from being Prime's attack dog, so he doesn't get any props for that, either. Don't get me wrong, Grimlock is a very good figure, no doubt about it. But he really isn't anything more than a slight repaint of a very good figure. And considering that the original figure cost about twenty dollars and this repaint here came as part of a rather expensive exclusive set... you get the picture. So bottom line, a good figure, but I would have wished for a little bit more in this case.
